Valentines Day 2026 with Clumber Spaniels Images by Powell Creative

Clumbers and Boykins and a Lab .... Oh My!!

  •

Spaniel Power!

….And Boykins, and a Lab…..We have all been saying we need more folks, and certainly younger folks in our sport, and this last month did not disappoint! On Feb. 14th, 2026 we hosted a group of lovely people and their spaniels, primarily Clumbers at our training session. This is a 2-year young local club with members wanting to learn more about hunting, hunt tests etc. All 10+ members went through the necessary steps for base access and showed up with enthusiasm and cookies! Thanks to all WW people for being so accommodating during our regular training session and answering questions.

An extra shout out to Lisa, Jeff and Dave for working with the dogs on instinct assessments. From the Clumber group we have 3 new members that have paid dues and joined, and one Cocker! Clumber’s are also hosting one of the 4 days for our Fall hunt test, replacing the Clumber parent club’s participation.

Last weekend (2/21/2026) Floyd and Jeff brought an additional 3 people, with a Cocker, a Lab and Boykins. Their feedback was super positive, 2 of them have already joined the club, and Josh, with the Cocker is soon to follow. Thanks again to all that helped to make them feel welcome. Once we have their addresses in their email group, we’ll send out a welcome.

The diversity of our club is certainly a draw, whether folks are interested in hunt tests, field trials, or hunting over their dogs. WW is definitely the go-to club to learn and grow in this sport.
